Last Memorial Day, I toured the World War II battlefields of Normandy and Brittany and visited the American military cemeteries there.
This is the Normandy American Cemetery located at Omaha Beach.
This is the American cemetery in Brittany.
I also visited the cemetery of our Commonwealth allies in Bayeux.
Even the enemy dead are remembered in death and honored in their humanity.
While in the American cemeteries, I made sure to stop by the graves of chaplains who died serving God and country.
