When Twitter is a’flitter,
Keep your finger off the “Enter”
Best neologism: via Scot McKnight, CrowdPounding: “It is the Girardian scapegoat mechanism coming into play; it is mimetic rivalry in a Comment box.”
When I see there are 100s of comments on a topic on any social media, I know that there is no real discussion going on. In general, I won’t comment if there are more than 10 or 15 previous comments in a thread. Too much more than that, and it’s hard to see any real mutuality.
And finally, its almost impossible to have any kind of serious back-and-forth discussion in 140 character bumper stickers. I don’t even try.
